Less Logs in the Cabin 101, 102, 103, 104, 105 from Virtual Quilter

Using less logs around the centre square saves a lot of time in making a block, and it makes a big difference to the design. I thought it might make the overall design less effective,, but now I think it looks more effective.

I love the design above … and the one below!

Not a big difference between the two, but effective.

The one above is very interesting

The last one is also very interesting, and below is the group photo of today’s designs.

There will be more Log Cabin designs mid week, next week.

Less Logs in the Cabin 96, 97, 98, 99, 100 from Virtual Quilter

Interesting centre, and a very unusual border!

Another interesting centre.

Looks like a road map for a city centre.

Slight change to get the designs above ….

… and another change.

That is all for this week’s quilter’s mid week break, and there will be another chance to stop briefly to look at more Log Cabin quilt designs next week.

Less Logs in the Cabin 91, 92 from Virtual Quilter

Interesting!

Not a lot of change of the first, but I like the change.

In the third one I think there is just one block which hasn’t been changed!

The one above is the second design with four blocks turned around to face the opposite direction.

Once again, the last design for this week’s mid week retreat has the same centre block as all the others.

I think I like the third one the best, but can see all sorts of changes I will make to all of these designs for future Log Cabin mid week retreats! Especially ...

Less Logs in the Cabin 86, 87, 88, 89, 90 from Virtual Quilter

Interesting. Also neat and tidy.

Very interesting.

I have had my mid week retreat. I selected these designs from the project file and had a good look at them during a coffee break. Hope you can do the same.

I like the outer row of blocks … looks like a very solid fence line to me.

My favourite for the day is above!

I have to admit that selecting Log Cabin designs is usually just selecting a project file, and using the next five designs … today I had a coffee break after that part and just studied the selected designs before ...

Less Logs in the Cabin 81, 82, 83, 84, 85 from Virtual Quilter

Now that is interesting.

Note that the less logs in the title of this series refers to the fact that there are only three rounds of strips around the centre instead of the four I usually use. In any Log Cabin design you can vary to number of strips from 2 up to 12 … maybe more if you wish!

Another interesting one.

I like the third …

… love the fourth too.

I love the central part of the last, but the corners, not so much.

More Log Cabin designs mid week, next week.
